Who is the Little Prince?
He’s the hero of a book written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, a great French writer.
The Little Prince was published in 1943 and is one of the most widely-read books in the world.
Translated into over 200 languages, it has sold over 150 million copies!
But why is the Little Prince so famous?
Because everyone can identify with him: children and grown-ups.
He’s a small boy who lives alone on a far away planet. He’s in love with a haughty rose, and sets off to find friends on other planets.
He meets different characters: a businessman, a King, a geographer, and a Fox, who all teach him something.
Some prove to him just how much our world is sometimes ridiculous. Others, like the fox, give him secrets of wisdom.
